Wonders of Machu Picchu

High above the Sacred Valley,
Where the Andes reach the sky,
Machu Picchu stands in silence,
Echoing tales of days gone by.

Ancient stones tell of the Inca,
Their empire vast and grand,
Here amongst the clouds they settled,
Building wonders on this land.

Llamas graze on terraced gardens,
Stairways twist and alleys wind,
Temples, plazas, rooms of royalty,
Echoes of a world designed.

Hidden from the world’s sharp prying,
By dense forests and peaks so tall,
For centuries it lay in secret,
Till its grandeur was revealed to all.

Sunrise paints its walls in golden,
While the mists dance and play,
The spirits of Inca ancestors,
Still walk its paths today.

Guardian of history, nature’s masterpiece,
On this mountaintop so high,
Machu Picchu, ancient marvel,
Between the earth and sky.
